Fairy Tales & Ghosts: A Project Update

When I finished the Brenna Rutherford Mysteries series last fall, I decided that 2016 would be a year of planning and outlining new series. Now that it’s September, I thought I’d let you know how things are going.

Tales from Prince William: Each book in this series is inspired by a fairy tale. They are not retellings and there’s no magic involved, but they do pay homage to a specific tale. The first book, See How She Runs, is inspired by the tale of Red Riding Hood. The second book, See How She Falls, is inspired by the tale of Sleeping Beauty. The third book, See How She Hides, is inspired by the tale of Snow White. Each book is complete and features a different hero/heroine, though some of the characters do appear in multiple books. I’ve outlined this trilogy completely. I am extensive in my outlines – they each contain over 16,000 words – so when I sit down to write, the process usually goes quickly. I anticipate publishing the first book next year.

Series 2: It’s about ghosts, and that’s all I know. Just kidding. Sort of. I have thumbnail sketches of four books (there could be a fifth). The goal is to merge spine-tingling terror with humor to create series that everyone can enjoy. And yes, there will be romance because what says “Hey, baby, let’s fall in love” more than getting chased by a vengeful spirit? Like Tales from Prince William, each book will be complete and feature a different hero/heroine. The series will focus on a group of female, high school-aged paranormal enthusiasts and the rock band boys who love them. It’s going to be a lot of fun.

So that’s my update. I’m about to go on vacation, and I plan to spend some time devoted to further developing the ghost series. I hope you’re as excited about what’s coming as I am.
